BRIEF: Is Mountain Laurel poisonous to elk?


QUESTION:
I am thinking of raising elk but I need to know if Mountain laurel is poisonous to elk.

ANSWER:
I don't know. I believe that some of the Whitetails in New York are resistant to members of that genus and family, but they co-evolved with those species. Elk are from elsewhere, so it would not be logical to assume they are safe.
