QUESTION:
Does anyone know what blue green algae is and if it is safe to give a tablespoon to a horse? Its touted to help while line disease repair internally. Articles say foot repairs quicker if a horse is fed this algae.

ANSWER:

Sounds like more foo-foo dust being pedalled to horse owners. If the blue green algae is of the wrong species it can poison the horse and even if it is of a relatively innocuous species, the culture can be contaminated with harmful bacteria. Why do people fall for this stuff?
