BRIEF: Can vitamin B be toxic?
QUESTION:
A friend recently informed me that high levels of Vitamin B complex can be
toxic, if this is so can you give me more input on this and advice on how
much B complex is safe to take? The main reason I am taking extra B complex
is because I read that this vitamin gets depleted very quickly when we are
exposed to high levels of stress.
ANSWER:
Niacin is the B vitamin most likely to cause problems at megadoses. The others are
virtually non-toxic even at 10 or 100 times requirement.
Maybe, this vitamin gets depleted when we are exposed to high levels of stress. At
least this is what the vitamin salesmen always say...
