"Poisonous" does not mean deadly. Some manifestations of toxicity are subtle. The dose, as always, determines if a plant is safe source of nutrients or a toxic hazard.

BRIEF: Can vitamin E be toxic?

QUESTION:
We would like to inquire if there is really such a thing as vitamin E toxicity...like for those who take Vitamin E supplements or pills at 400I.U. per day. Will it harm the liver?

ANSWER:

At high doses, some people feel uncomfortable and there is a possibility of interference with vitamin K activity at very high doses. The amounts involved with these mild symptoms are much greater than anyone but a deranged or obsessed person would possibly ingest. I don't know of any liver damage (as in vitamin A toxicity) linked to vitamin E.
