BRIEF: What do you think about my reaction to pyrachantha?


QUESTION:
I was just poked in the finger today by a plant we think is pyrachantha. My finger is swelling and very hot and painful, even with three beers. What do you think?

ANSWER:

I am not a doctor, and you will want to find one. If a physician decides it is infected, then you will probably be asked to if soak the infected funger in hot water, as hot as you can stand. I would do that without the beers so you don't choose water hot enough to damage tissue. If it is something less innocuous than pyracantha, your doctor may want to remove the thorn tip from the finger...
