PLEASE NOTE:
"Poisonous" does not mean deadly. Some manifestations of toxicity are subtle. The dose, as always, determines if a plant is safe source of nutrients or a toxic hazard.

BRIEF: Are the same plants that are poisonous to humans, poisonous to animals?

QUESTION:
Are the same plants, herbs etc., poisonous to humans, necessarily poisonous to animals?

ANSWER:

No, many plants that make us sick can be eaten by animals. What is more, animals can detoxify them and produce milk and meat that is safe for human consumption. Occasionally, this wonderful system fails and animals can pass toxins along to humans, but those are very rare exceptions we are on the lookout for all the time!
