PLEASE NOTE:
"Poisonous" does not mean deadly. Some manifestations of toxicity are subtle. The dose, as always, determines if a plant is safe source of nutrients or a toxic hazard.

BRIEF: Are these berries poisonous?

QUESTION:
I have an 8 year old son who had eaten some berries. I am not sure if it was poison. I showed it to my neighbor and he said it was poison. It has heart shaped leaf and the berries are the color and shape of a pea. They look like a small cherry.

ANSWER:

I can't identify them from that, you need to take them to a botanist who can actually look at them. Where are you located? The description doesn't fit anything really deadly at small dosages. Has your son showed any symptoms? Have you contacted a physician?
