PLEASE NOTE:
"Poisonous" does not mean deadly. Some manifestations of toxicity are subtle. The dose, as always, determines if a plant is safe source of nutrients or a toxic hazard.

BRIEF: Do you know anything about lolium temulentum?

QUESTION:
Do you know anything about a very toxic european plant: lolium temulentum ? I'm looking for the poisonous compounds of this plant.

ANSWER:

We called that Darnel ryegrass in California. It has an endophyte (Endoconidium temulentum) that produces a poorly-characterized, unamed toxin. There are so many toxins in endophyte infected ryegrasses, I can't imagine which ones you are looking at. For an over view see pp249-255 in Cheeke's natural Toxicants in Feeds, Forages and Poisonous plants.
